ஆடுகள் ஒன்றையொன்று தள்ளத் தொடங்கின.

அவை மேலும் மேலும் சத்தமாக வாதிட்டன.

விரைவில், அவை தங்கள் சமநிலையை இழந்தன.

Translation:

Aadugal ondraiondru thallath thodangina.

Avai maelum maelum saththamaaga vaathittana.

Viravil, avai thangal samanilaiyai izhandhana.

English:

The goats started pushing each other.

They argued louder and louder.

Soon, they lost their balance.

இரண்டு ஆடுகளும் வழுக்கி ஆற்றில் விழுந்தன.

தொப்பென்று! இரண்டும் தண்ணீருக்குள் சென்றன.

ஆடுகளுக்கு நீந்தத் தெரியவில்லை, அவை மூழ்கிவிட்டன.

Translation:

Irandu aadugalum vazhukki aatril vizhundhana.

Thoppendru! Irandum thanneerukkul sendrana.

Aadugalukku neendhath theriyavillai, avai moozhgivitana.

English:

The two goats slipped and fell into the river.

Splash! They both went into the water.

The goats couldn’t swim, and they drowned.

சிறிது நேரத்திற்குப் பிறகு, மேலும் இரண்டு ஆடுகள் பாலத்திற்கு வந்தன.

ஓர் ஆடு இடது பக்கத்திற்குச் செல்ல விரும்பியது.

மற்றொன்று வலது பக்கத்திற்குச் செல்ல விரும்பியது.

Translation:

Siridhu neraththirkup piragu, maelum irandu aadugal paalaththirku vandhana.

Oar aadu idadhu pakkaththirkuch sella virumbiyadhu.

Matrondru valadhu pakkaththirkuch sella virumbiyadhu.

English:

After some time, two more goats came to the bridge.

One goat wanted to go to the left side.

The other wanted to go to the right side.

Two goats talking with each other

முதல் ஆடு, "முதலில் என்னைச் செல்ல விடு!" என்றது.

இரண்டாவது ஆடு, "இல்லை, நான்தான் முதலில் செல்ல வேண்டும்!" என்று பதிலளித்தது.

ஆனால் இந்த முறை, அவை சண்டையிடுவதற்குப் பதிலாக யோசிக்க முடிவு செய்தன.

Translation:

Mudhal aadu, "Mudhalil ennaich sella vidu!" endradhu.

Irandaavadhu aadu, "Illai, naandhaan mudhalil sella vendum!" endru badhilaliththadhu.

Aanaal indha murai, avai sandaiyiduvadharkup padhilaaga yoasikka mudivu seidhana.

English:
