குரங்கு ரொட்டியை எடுத்து அதை இரண்டு துண்டுகளாக வெட்டியது.

குரங்கு அந்தத் துண்டுகளை உயர்த்திப் பிடித்து, "இவை சமமாக இருக்கின்றனவா என்று பார்ப்போம்" என்றது.

ஆனால் ஒரு துண்டு மற்றொன்றை விடப் பெரியதாக இருந்தது.

Translation:

Kurangu rottiyai eduththu adhai irandu thundugalaaga vettiyadhu.

Kurangu andhath thundugalai uyarththip pidiththu, "Ivai samamaaga irukkindranavaa endru paarppom" endradhu.

Aanaal oru thundu matrondrai vidap periyadhaaga irundhadhu.

English:

The monkey took the bread and cut it into two pieces.

The monkey raised the pieces and said, “Let’s see if they’re even”.

But one piece was bigger than the other.

குரங்கு தொடர்ந்து சிறிய கடிகளாகச் சாப்பிடுவதைப் பூனைகள் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தன.

Translation:

Ippoadhu matra thundu periyadhaagath therindhadhu.

Kurangu andhath thundilirundhum oru kadi kadiththadhu.

Kurangu thodarndhu siriya kadigalaagach saappiduvadhaip poonaigal paarththuk kondirundhana.

English:

Now the other piece looked bigger.

The monkey took a bite from that piece too.

The cats watched as the monkey kept eating small bites.

English:

The monkey kept nibbling until there was no bread left.

The cats realized they had nothing to eat anymore.

The monkey laughed and climbed up a tree.
