Translation:

Viyaapari kazhuthaiyai paarthu, "Un thandhirangal eppadi pirachanaihalai erpaduthinannu ippo unakku purinjuthu" endraan.

"Somberiyaaga iruppadhai vida kadinamaaga uzhaippadhu nalladhu" endru avar melum sonnaar.

English:

The merchant looked at the donkey and said, "Now you understand how your tricks caused problems".

Translation:

Kazhudhai ovvoru naalum kadiṇamāga uzhaitthadhu.

Pathilukku antha viyaapariyum avanidam anbaga nadantha kondaan.

English:

Translation:

Naan ini orupodum somberiyaga irukka maatten" endru kazhudhai thanakkuthane urudhiyalithadhu.

Nermaiyaga iruppadhu mukkiyam enbadhai kazhudhai purindhukondadhu.

Kadina uzhaipu magizhchiyai tharum enbadhaiyum adhu katrukkondadhu.

English:

The donkey promised himself, “I will never be lazy again”.

He understood that being honest is important.

He also learned that hard work brings happiness.
