Eke-kāḷī, ek kāvaḷā jaṅgalāt rāhāyacā.

To shahāṇā āṇi tākdavān mhaṇūn oḷakhlā jāt asē.

To ākāśāt uñca uḍāyalā āvaḍāyacā.

English:

Once upon a time, a crow lived in a forest.

He was known for being wise and strong.

He enjoyed flying high in the sky.

तो पाणी शोधण्यासाठी उडत राहिला.

Translation:

Ekhādyā unhāḷyāchā divashī, uḍatānā, kāvaḷyālā tahān vāṭalī.

To pāṇī śodhāyasāṭhī uḍat rāhilā.

Tyācī tahān tyālā pāṇyācā srot śodhaṇyās nirdhār karaṇyāt madat jhālī.

English:

On a sunny day, while flying, the crow felt thirsty.

He flew and searched for water to drink.

His thirst made him determined to find a water source.

कावळा अनेक घरांवरून उडत पाणी शोधत होता.

त्याला काही पाणी सापडेल अशी आशा होती, पण पाणी दिसले नाही.

शोध घेतल्यावरही तो एक थेंब पाणी सापडवू शकला नाही.

Translation:

Kāvaḷā anēk gharāṁvarūn uḍat pāṇī śodhat hotā.

Tyālā kāhī pāṇī sāpaḍēl ashī āśā hotī, paṇa pāṇī disalē nāhī.

Śodh ghetalyāvarhī tō ēk thēmb pāṇī sāpaḍavū śakalā nāhī.

English:

The crow flew over many houses, looking for water.

He hoped to find some, but no water was in sight.

Even after searching , he could not find a drop to drink.

Śodh chāḷū thēvhatānā, kāvaḷyālā gharājaval bhāṇḍē disalē.

To bhāṇḍē pāhūn ānandit jhālā.

Utsāhī hōūn tō javaḷūn pāhāyāsāṭhī khālī uḍālā.

English:

As he continued his search, the crow noticed a pot near a house.

He was happy to see the pot.

Excited, he flew down to take a closer look.
