ಪ್ರತಿ ಬಾರಿ ಕೋತಿ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಂದಾಗ, ಅವನು ಕೆಲವು ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ನದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊಸಳೆಗೆ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತನು.

English:

Every time the monkey ate fruits, he left some for the crocodile in the river.

The crocodile liked this and waited for the monkey to share.

ಒಂದು ದಿನ, ಮೊಸಳೆ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಗೆ ತಂದನು.

ಅವಳು ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ರುಚಿಸಿ ಬಹಳ ಸ್ವಾದಿಷ್ಠವೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿತು.

ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಿಗೆ ಈ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದವೆಯೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಳು.

English:

One day, the crocodile took some fruits to his wife.

She tasted them and thought they were very tasty.

She asked her husband where he found such delicious fruits.

ಮೊಸಳೆಯ ಪತ್ನಿ ಯೋಚಿಸಿತು, ಕೋತಿ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಂದ ಬೇರೆಯಾದ ಕೂಡಾ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ರುಚಿಯಾದಿರಬಹುದು.

ಅವಳು ಗಂಡನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಳು, ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಕೋತಿಯ ಹೃದಯ ಬೇಕೆಂದು, ಅದರಿಂದ ಅವಳು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಬಹುದು ಎಂದು.

ಮೊಸಳೆ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಗೊಂಡು ಸಹಮತ ಪಟ್ಟನು.

Translation:

Mosaleyu patni yōcisitu, kōti hannu gaḷinda bēre ādarū innashtu ruciyāgide endu.

Avaḷu gandana tigi tanna kōtiya hṛdaya bēkagide endu heḷidalu.

Mosale aċċarigondi, adhakke sammatavāgittu.

English:

The crocodile’s wife thought the monkey might taste even better than the fruits.

She told her husband that she wanted the monkey’s heart to make her feel better.

The crocodile was surprised but agreed.

The crocodile is thinking about a plan to trick the monkey

ಮೊಸಳೆ ತನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲು ಬಯಸಿತು, ಆದರೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಅನ್ನುವುದು ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಅವನು ಕೋತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೆಳೆಯಲು ಒಂದು ಯೋಜನೆ ಮಾಡಿತು.

ಅವನು ಕೋತಿಯನ್ನು ನದಿಗೆ ತರುವುದು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿತು.

Translation:

Mosale tanna patnige sahāya māḍalu bayasitu, ādarū hēge anta tiḷiyalilla.

Avanu kōtinantha mōsagoḷisalu yōjane māḍidanu.

Avanu kōtinantha nadige taralu tīrmānisitu.

English:

The crocodile wanted to help his wife, but didn’t know how.

He came up with a plan to trick the monkey.

He decided to bring the monkey into the river.
