एक दिन, एक जंगली हाथी जंगल से गुज़रता हुआ आया।

हाथी घमंडी और अभिमानी था, और गर्मी से बहुत परेशान था।

Translation:

Ek din, ek jaṅgalī hāthī jaṅgal se guzartā huā āyā.

गर्म मौसम में हाथी को ठीक से दिखाई नहीं दिया, तो उसने शाखाएँ तोड़नी शुरू कर दीं।

उसे पेड़ पर रहने वाले छोटे जानवरों की परवाह नहीं थी।

उसे खुद को ठंडक पहुँचानी थी, इसलिए वह बिना सोचे पेड़ को ज़ोर से हिलाने लगा।

Translation:

Garm mausam meṅ hāthī ko ṭhīk se dikhāī nahīṅ diyā, to usne shākhāẽ toṛnī śurū kar dīṅ.

Use peṛ par rahne vāle choṭe jānvaroṅ kī parvāh nahīṅ thī.

Use khud ko ṭhaṇḍak pahuṅchānī thī, isliye vah binā soche peṛ ko zor se hilāne lagā.

English:

In the hot weather, the elephant, unable to see clearly, started breaking branches.

गौरेयों ने टूटे हुए अंडे देखे और उनका दिल टूट गया।

गौरेयों ने दुख में रोना शुरू कर दिया।

Translation:

Tez jhaṭke se peṛ kī shākhāẽ ṭūṭ gaīṅ aur gaureyā ke aṇḍe girkar kuchal gae.

Gaureyoṅ ne ṭūṭe hue aṇḍe dekhe aur un kā dil ṭūṭ gayā.

Gaureyoṅ ne dukh meṅ ronā śurū kar diyā.

English:

Due to a quick snap, the tree branches broke, and the sparrow’s eggs got crushed as they fell.

Sparrows saw the broken eggs and felt heartbroken.

The sparrows cried out in sadness.
