قال التمساح للقرد إن زوجته أحبت الفواكه التي قدمها لها كثيرًا.

ثم دعاه لزيارتهم.

فرح القرد ووافق على الذهاب مع التمساح.

Translation:

Qāla al-timsāḥ lil-qird inna zawjatah aḥabbat al-fawākih allatī qaddamahā lahā kathīran.

Thumma daʿāhu liziyāratihim.

Fariḥa al-qird wa-wāfaqa ʿalā al-dhahāb maʿa al-timsāḥ.

English:

The crocodile told the monkey that his wife loved the fruits given by the monkey very much.

He then invited the monkey to visit them.

The monkey was happy and agreed to go with the crocodile.

جلس القرد على ظهر التمساح، وكلما غاصا أعمق في النهر، بدأ القرد يشعر بالخوف.

سأل القرد التمساح: لماذا نغوص عميقًا؟

لم يجب التمساح على الفور.

Translation:

Jalasa al-qird ʿalā ẓahri al-timsāḥ, wa-kullamā ghāṣā aʿmaq fī al-nahr, badaʾa al-qird yashʿur bil-khawf.

Saʾala al-qird al-timsāḥ: limādhā naghūṣ ʿamīqan?

Lam yujib al-timsāḥ ʿalā al-fawr.

English:

The Monkey sat on the Crocodile’s back, and as they went deeper into the river, the monkey started to feel scared.

He asked the crocodile why they were going so deep.

The crocodile didn’t answer right away.

Action: القرد جالس على ظهر التمساح ويفكر بهدوء

ابتسم التمساح وأخبر القرد بخطته السرية.

قال إن زوجته تريد قلب القرد.

شعر القرد بالخوف، لكنه بقي هادئًا.

Translation:

Ibtasama al-timsāḥ wa-akhbara al-qird bi-khuṭṭatih al-sirriyyah.

Qāla inna zawjatah turīd qalb al-qird.

Shaʿara al-qird bil-khawf, lakinnahū baqiya hādiʾan.

English:

The crocodile smiled and told the monkey his secret plan.

He said his wife wanted the monkey’s heart.

The monkey was scared but stayed calm.

Action: القرد يخبر التمساح عن قلبه الذي نسيه على الشجرة

Monkey telling the crocodile about his heart which he forgot on the tree

فكر القرد بسرعة لينقذ نفسه.

قال للتمساح إنه سيعطي قلبه لزوجته بكل سرور.

لكنه قال إنه نسي قلبه على الشجرة.

Translation:

Fakkara al-qird bisurʿah li-yunqidh nafsah.

Qāla lil-timsāḥ innahū sayuʿṭī qalbah li-zawjatih bikull surūr.

Lākinnahū qāla innahū nasī qalbah ʿalā al-shajarah.

English:

The monkey thought quickly to save himself.

He told the crocodile that he would happily give his heart to the wife.

But he said he had forgotten his heart on the tree.
