Translation:

Achanak, darya halkay se lehraya.

Ek khoobsurat pari namoodar hui, jo sooraj ki roshni mein chamak rahi thi.

Woh bohot meherban thi aur us ki awaaz narm aur jadui thi.

English:

Suddenly, the river rippled gently.

A pretty fairy appeared, shining brightly under the sun.

She is so kind and has a soft magical voice.

Translation:

Lakarhara pari ko dekh kar dar gaya.

Jab woh aahista aahista pur-sukoon hua, pari ne kaha, "Main ne tumhari awaaz suni."

Us ne yeh bhi kaha, "Ro mat, mujhe batao kya hua hai."

English:

The woodcutter was frightened when a fairy suddenly appeared.

After he slowly calmed down, the fairy said, “I heard you.”

She also said, “Don’t cry. Tell me what’s wrong.”

"میری کلہاڑی دریا میں گر گئی ہے، اب میں لکڑیاں نہیں کاٹ سکتا اور نہ ہی کمائی کر سکتا ہوں۔"

پری نے بات سنی اور کہا کہ وہ مدد کرے گی۔

Translation:

Us ne adab se jhuk kar apni kahani sunai.

"Meri kulhaari darya mein gir gayi hai, ab main lakriyaan nahi kaat sakta aur na hi kamai kar sakta hoon."

Pari ne baat suni aur kaha ke woh madad karegi.

English:

He bowed respectfully and told his story.

My axe fell in the river, and now I can’t cut wood or earn money.

The fairy listened and said she would help.

Translation:

Pari ne paani mein haath dala.

Us ne ek chamakti hui chaandi ki kulhaari nikali taake lakarhara aazmaya jaye.

Us ne poocha, "Kya yeh tumhari kulhaari hai?" Lakarhara bola, "Nahin, yeh meri nahin hai."

English:

The fairy put her hand in the water.

She pulled out a shiny silver axe to check the woodcutter.

She asked the woodcutter, “Is this your axe?” The woodcutter said, “No, it is not mine.”
