మేకలు ఒకదానినొకటి తోసుకోవడం మొదలుపెట్టాయి.

అవి మరింత బిగ్గరగా వాదించుకున్నాయి.

త్వరలోనే అవి సమతుల్యతను కోల్పోయాయి.

Translation:

Mēkalu okadāninokaṭi tōsukōvaḍaṁ modalupeṭṭāyi.

Avi marinta biggaragā vādin̄chukunnāyi.

Tvaralōnē avi samatulyatanu kōlpōyāyi.

English:

The goats started pushing each other.

They argued louder and louder.

Soon, they lost their balance.

Two drowning goats

రెండు మేకలు జారి నదిలో పడిపోయాయి.

స్ప్లాష్! అవి రెండూ నీటిలోకి వెళ్ళాయి.

మేకలకు ఈత రాకపోవడంతో అవి మునిగిపోయాయి.

Translation:

Reṇḍu mēkalu jāri nadilō paḍipōyāyi.

Splāṣ! Avi reṇḍū nīṭilōki veḷḷāyi.

Mēkalaku īta rākapōvaḍantō avi munigipōyāyi.

English:

The two goats slipped and fell into the river.

Splash! They both went into the water.

The goats couldn’t swim, and they drowned.

కొంత సమయం తరువాత, మరో రెండు మేకలు వంతెన వద్దకు వచ్చాయి.

ఒక మేక ఎడమ వైపుకు వెళ్లాలనుకుంది.

మరొక మేక కుడి వైపుకు వెళ్లాలనుకుంది.

Translation:

Konta samayaṁ taruvāta, marō reṇḍu mēkalu vantena vaddaku vacchāyi.

Oka mēka eḍama vaipuku veḷlālanukundi.

Maroka mēka kuḍi vaipuku veḷlālanukundi.

English:

After some time, two more goats came to the bridge.

One goat wanted to go to the left side.

The other wanted to go to the right side.

మొదటి మేక, "ముందు నన్ను వెళ్ళనివ్వు!" అని అంది.

రెండవ మేక, "వద్దు, నేనే ముందు వెళ్ళాలి!" అని బదులిచ్చింది.

కానీ ఈసారి, వాళ్ళు పోరాడటానికి బదులుగా ఆలోచించాలని నిర్ణయించుకున్నారు.

Translation:

Modaṭi mēka, "mundu nannu veḷḷanivvu!" Ani andi.

Reṇḍava mēka, "vaddu, nēnē mundu veḷḷāli!" Ani baduliccjindi.

Kānī īsāri, vāḷḷu pōrāḍaṭāniki badulugā ālōchin̄chālani nirṇayin̄chukunnāru.

English:

The first goat said, "Let me go first!

The second goat replied, "No, I should go first!

But this time, they decided to think instead of fight.
