लकड़हारे ने कहा कि उसे अपनी आजीविका के लिए लकड़ी काटने की कुल्हाड़ी चाहिए थी।

चांदी और सोने की कुल्हाड़ी से वह काम नहीं होता, इसलिए उसने अपनी पुरानी कुल्हाड़ी चुनी।

Translation:

Pari ne socha ki usne chaandi ya sone ki kulhaadi kyun nahin li.

Lakadhare ne kaha ki use apni aajeevika ke liye lakdi kaatne ki kulhaadi chahiye thi.

Chaandi aur sone ki kulhaadi se vah kaam nahin hota, isliye usne apni puraani kulhaadi chuni.

English:

The fairy wondered why he did not pick the silver or gold axe.

The woodcutter said he needed an axe to cut wood for his livelihood.

Silver and gold axes could not do that, so he chose his old one.

Usne kaha ki vah apni puraani lohe ki kulhaadi rakh sakta hai.

Usne use chaandi aur sone ki kulhaadiyaan bhi uphaar mein deen.

English:

The fairy was amazed by the woodcutter’s truthfulness.

She told him he could keep his old iron axe.

She also gave him the silver and gold axes as a gift.

Translation:

Lakadhara imaandaar tha, isliye use bada inaam mila.

Vah teeno kulhaadiyaan lekar ghar chala gaya.

Ab vah ameer tha, fir bhi vah mehnat se kaam karta raha.

English:

The woodcutter was honest so, he got a big reward.

He went home carrying all three axes.

Even though he was now rich, he kept working hard.
