Translation:

Matka purana dikhta tha lekin majboot tha, uski sathah samay aur mausam se ghisi hui thi.

Kauwa matke ke kinare par utara, apne santulan ke liye apne pankh phadphadaye.

Thakawat bhari talaash ke baad, uski tez aankhon mein matke mein paani ke liye umeed ki chamak thi.

English:

The pot looked old but sturdy, its surface worn by time and weather.

The crow landed on the pot’s rim, flapping his wings for balance.

After a tiring search, his sharp eyes gleamed with hope for water in the pot.

जब कौआ मटके के अंदर देखता है, तो वह केवल थोड़ी सी पानी की मात्रा देखता है।

वह इसे पाकर फिर भी खुश था।

लेकिन पानी इतनी कम थी कि वह उसे पी नहीं सकता था।

Translation:

Jab Kauwa matke ke andar dekhta hai, to vah keval thodi si paani ki maatra dekhta hai.

Vah ise paakar phir bhi khush tha.

Lekin paani itni kam thi ki vah use pee nahi sakta tha.

English:

When the crow looked inside the pot, he saw only a small amount of water.

He was still glad to find it.

But the water was too low for him to drink.

Kauwa matke mein apni choonch daalta hai, paani tak pahuchne ki koshish karta hai.

Haalanki, paani bahut neeche tha.

Vah thak gaya aur ek bhi boond nahi pee saka.

English:

The crow put his beak into the pot, trying to reach the water.

However, the water was too far down.

He got exhausted and couldn’t drink even a single drop.

Kauwa chaaron aur dekhta hai aur zameen par kuch kankar dekhta hai.

English:

The crow looked around and noticed some pebbles on the ground.

He thought of a clever idea.

He then decided to use the pebbles to solve his problem.
