Annie opened the door and smiled at Hoppy.

“Hoppy, I told you,” she said softly. “I worked hard in the summer.”

“Why didn’t you do the same?”

Hoppy lowered his head in shame.

“I was lazy and didn’t listen to you.”

“I wasted my time instead of getting ready” he said.

उसने खुद से वादा किया कि अगली गर्मियों में मेहनत करेगा।

Translation:

Hoppy baahar hi thand aur bhookh se kaampata raha.

Use ehsaas hua ki usne galti ki thi.

Usne khud se vaada kiya ki agli garmiyon mein mehnat karega.

English:

Hoppy stayed outside, feeling cold and hungry.

He realized he had made a mistake.

He promised himself to work hard next summer.

Usne use andar bulaya aur Hoppy ko kuch khaana diya.

Main is baar tumhari madad karoongi, lekin agli baar tumhein khud taiyaari karni hogi," usne kaha.

Hoppy ne use dhanyavaad diya aur vaada kiya ki vah phir samay barbaad nahin kareg

English:

She invited him inside and gave hoppy some food.

“I’ll help you this time, but next year, you must get ready yourself,” she said.

Hoppy thanked her and promised to never waste time again.
