पूरी ताक़त लगाकर, लोमड़ी जितना ऊँचा कूद सकती थी, कूदी।

लेकिन दुख की बात है कि वह अभी भी अंगूरों तक नहीं पहुँच सकी।

वह निराश होने लगी, लेकिन रुकने से इनकार कर दिया।

Translation:

Pūrī tāqat lagākar, lomṛī jitnā ū̃chā kūd saktī thī, kūdī.

Lekin dukh kī bāt hai ki vah ab bhī aṅgūroṅ tak nahī̃ pahũch sakī.

Vah nirāsh hone lagī, lekin rukne se inakār kar diyā.

English:

With all his strength, the fox leaped as high as he could.

But sadly, he still couldn’t reach the grapes.

He began to feel frustrated but refused to stop.

Translation:

Lomṛī pīchhe haṭī aur aṅgūroṅ kī or dauṛkar chhalāṅg lagāī.

Usne apne sharīr ko jitnā ho sakā, utnā phailāyā.

Lekin aṅgūr phir bhī us kī pahunch se bāhar hī rahe.

English:

The fox stepped back and took a running leap towards the grapes.

He stretched his body as far as he could.

But the grapes remained out of his reach.

Translation:

Lomṛī kā ātmaviśvās thoṛā kam hone lagā.

Usne sochā ki śāyad vah kabhī aṅgūroṅ tak na pahũch pāe.

Phir bhī, usne ek aur koshish karne kā nirṇay liyā.

English:

The fox started to feel less confident.

He thought he might never be able to reach the grapes.

Still, he decided to give it one more try.

Translation:

Ek aur nākām koshish ke bād, lomṛī ko mūrkh jaisā mahsūs huā.

"Main bār-bār koshish kyõ kartī hū̃ jab mujhe patā hai ki main unhẽ nahī̃ pā saktī?" usne sochā.

Vah zamīn par baiṭh gaī, bahut udās mahsūs kar rahī thī.

English:

After another failed attempt, the fox felt foolish.

“Why do I keep trying when I know I can’t reach them?” he wondered.

He sat on the ground, feeling very sad.
