Example

Title: Measures of central tendency-Median

Grade: 9-a Lesson: S1-L2

Explanation: The best way to understand statistics is by looking at some examples. Take turns and read each example for easy understanding.

Examples:

Find out the median for the given observations 9,2,4,8,6,5

Step 1a

Arranging in ascending order

Explanation: Let us arrange the observations in ascending order

i.e, smallest value to largest value

\$2,4,5,6,8,9\$

Step 1b

Find middle most numbers

Explanation: Now finding out the middle most numbers

i.e,\$5,6 \$

Step 1c

\$ Median \$ = \$" mean of the middle most numbers "/2 \$

Explanation: \$Median = (5+6) / 2 = 11/2 \$

\$Median = 5.5\$
