In a class 60% of the students are girls. If the total number of students is 30, what is the number of boys?

Percentage of girls in the school = 60%
Total number of students = 30
Total number of girls in the school = 30 x (60/100)
= 1800/100 = 18
Therefore, the total number of boys in the school = 30 -18 = 12

Explanation: In the above problem, the percentage of girls in the school is 60% and the total number of students is 30. The total number of girls in the school is 30 x (60/100) = 18. Therefore, the total number of boys in the school is 30 - 18 = 12

If there are 20 boys in a class of 30 students, find out the percentage of girls in the class?

Total Number of students in the class = 30
Number of boys in the class = 20
Number of girls in the class = 30 - 20 = 10
Percentage of girls in the class = (No.of girls/total students) x 100 = 10/30 x 100 = 33.3%

Explanation: In the above problem, the total number of students in the class is 30, the number of boys in the class is 20 and the number of girls is 30 - 20 = 10. Therefore, the percentage of girls in the class is 33.3% (10/30 * 100 = 33.3%)
