There are 45 houses in the street. 21 houses have been painted white. How many houses have not been painted white?

Therefore, the number of houses that are not painted white = 45 - 21 = 24

Mike has to learn 53 words meaning. He finished learning 20 words. How many more words he has to learn?

Total number of words meanings Mike has to learn = 53
Number of words Mike finished learning = 20
Therefore, the number of more words Mike has to learn = 53 - 20 = 33
