The wolf ate some chalk to make his voice sound sweeter.

Then, he knocked again and said, "Open up, my dear goslings. It’s your mother!".

His voice now sounded soft.

Characters: Seven Goslings, Wolf’s black paws

Items: A clock, a cot, a stool, and a fireplace

Action: Goslings peering through the door

The goslings peered through the door and saw his black paws.

They said, "You’re not our mother! Your paws are black like a wolf’s!" .

The wolf growled and left to plan again.

Location: Inside the house

Action: Goslings looking at the white paws of a wolf

The wolf rolled his paws in flour to make them look white.

He returned and knocked again, saying, "It’s your mother! Open the door, my dear children!".

The goslings saw his white paws and believed him.

Thinking it was their mother, the goslings opened the door.

The wolf burst in and chased them.

He swallowed six goslings whole, with his tummy full, and he left the place.

But the youngest hid in a clock case.
