Example

Title: Bernoulli’s distribution

Grade: 9-a Lesson: S4-L3

Explanation: The best way to understand statistics is by looking at some examples. Take turns and read each example for easy understanding.

Examples:

A basketball player can shoot a ball into the basket with a probability of 0.6. What is the probability that he misses the shot?

Step 1a

Probability that basketball player can shoot a ball into the basket = P(X=1)

Probability of success P(X=1) p=0.6

Explanation: Assumtion of Probability of success

Step 1b

Assumtion of Probability of failure

Explanation: Probability that basketball player can miss shoot a ball into the basket = P(X=0)

Probability of success P(X=0) = 1-p = 1-0.6

Probability of success P(X=0) = 0.4
