Fractions that have unequal denominators are known as unlike fractions. The two fractions stem from \$p/q\$ and \$r/s\$, and their denominators q and s are equal (i.e.,q ≠ s), so they are unlike fractions. Unlike fractions, make the denominators the same first and then subtract them. |
