Definition: Fraction

  • A fraction represents a numerical value, which defines the parts of a whole.

  • It represents the equal parts of the whole. A fraction has two parts, namely numerator, and denominator.

  • The number on the top is called the numerator, and the number on the bottom is called the denominator.

Definition: Comparing Non-unit Fractions

Comparing non-unit fractions involves determining which fraction represents a larger or smaller portion of a whole or a set.

Definition: Decimal

  • Decimals are a way to represent parts of a whole or parts of a group.
