Example

Title: Division

Grade: 4-a Lesson: S1-L7

Explanation: The best way to understand divisions is by looking at some examples. Take turns and read each example for easy understanding.

Examples:

Divide 600 ÷ 20

Step 1a

  • Draw the division symbol and write divisor 20 is on left side and dividend 600 closed under this symbol.

1a

.

Explanation: Arrange the numbers in division form:

Step 1b

  • Here, the first digit of the dividend is 60, 60 is divisible by 20.

  • Subtract 60 - 60 = 0 and write quotient is 3.

  • In this case, the next digit is 0 .

  • The result of the subtraction was 0, you place the next digit 0, in the quotient.

1b

.

Explanation: 600 is divisible by 20 but since, 20 × 3 = 60. we go for it. subtract 60 - 60 = 0 and write 3 in Quotient.

Step 1c

  • Therefore the quotient = 30.

  • And the remainder is 0.

  • 600 ÷ 20 = 30.

1c

.

Explanation: There is only one quotient..because there is no another number to divisible.
