Divide 45 ÷ 5

Step 1b

  • 45 is divisible by 5 but since, 5 × 9 = 45. we go for it.

  • subtract 45 - 45 = 0 and write 9 in quotient.

Explanation: Here, the first digit of the dividend is 45, 45 is divisible by 3. Subtract 45 - 45 = 0 and write quotient is 9

  • Therefore the quotient= 9 and the remainder is 0
