Step 1a

Divide 10 ÷ 2

  • Draw the division symbol ⟌ and write divisor 2 is on left side and dividend 10 enclosed under this symbol

Step 1b

  • 10 is divisible by 2 but since, 5 × 2 =10. we go for it.

  • Subtract 10 - 10 = 0 and write 5 in quotient.

Explanation: Here, the first digit of the dividend is 10, 10 is divisible by 2. Subtract 10 - 10 = 0 and write quotient is 5.

Step 1c

  • Therefore the quotient = 5 and the remainder is 0
