i.e, move constant terms to one side, and then solve for k.

⇒ \$(9k + 1)/4 = 2k + 8\$
⇒ \$9k + 1 = (2k + 8)4\$
⇒ \$9k + 1 = 8k + 32\$
⇒ \$9k - 8k = 32 - 1\$
