Add ten’s place. So, it will be 0 + 0 = 0. Write 0 directly to the Ten’s place.

Add hundred’s place. So, it will be 5 + 5 = 10. Now there is no carryover and we can directly write 10 in the hundredth’s column. Therefore, the sum of 500 + 500 = 1000.
