Add 79 + 5

Add digits in ones place value or from the right.

Explanation: 9 , 5 are the ones place values i.e., 9 + 5 = 14. 14 is larger than ten so you have to regroup or carry. Place the 4 under the one’s place column and place the 1 above 4.

Step 1b

Add the tens place value.

Explanation: 7 is the tens place value, 1 is carry forward value. Add tens place value and carry forward value i.e,

7 + 1 = 8

Step 1c

Finally the sum of 79 + 5 will be 85.
