Like adjectives, many adverbs also have degrees of comparison. The three degrees of comparison are positive, comparative, and superlative.

Tip: Comparison of Adverbs

  • Some adverbs form the comparative degree by adding -er and the superlative degree by adding -est.

  • Most adverbs that end in -/y form their comparative degrees by adding the word more or less in front of the positive degree.

  • The superlative degree is formed by adding the word most or least in front of the positive degree.
