  • To form the possessive of a singular noun, add an apostrophe (') and -s.

  • Example: Austin’s phone is broken.

Tip: Rule 2

  • To form the possessive of a plural noun that ends in -s, add an apostrophe (') to the end of the word.

  • Example: The doctors' office is next to the hospital.

Tip: Rule 3

  • To form the possessive of a plural noun that does not end in -s, add an apostrophe (') and -s.

  • Example: They started a children’s theater.
