Concrete nouns: A concrete noun is a noun that can be seen usually.

Tip: Concrete nouns

  • Some concrete nouns cannot be seen as they are present in tiny atoms forms.

  • They can be visible only through detailed examination.

  • Examples - Air, Breath

Definition: Abstract nouns

An abstract noun is a noun that cannot be seen.

Abstract nouns represent intangible ideas—things you can’t perceive with the five main senses.

Tip: Abstract nouns

  • The noun does not describe any word in the sentence.

  • Example - The teacher shares a word of *wisdom* with her students.
