The monkey then asked if he knew he would be glad to give his heart to his wife as she was ill. He told the crocodile that he forgot his heart at the tree and that we would get it back.

Crocodile agreed and turned back to the bank of the river. As soon they reached the tree, the monkey jumped onto it. The monkey said how foolish the crocodile is to think one can leave their heart out of the body.

The monkey replied by saying that the crocodile deceived the monkey as a friend and to leave and never come back. The crocodile was ashamed of its behavior and left without turning its back.
