Definition: Additional commas uses and misuses

A comma in a sentence, when used, separates a phrase and a clause.

Examples:

Correct sentence: The dog, Mike, and Hailey headed down the street for a walk.

Definition: Colons and dashes

A colon (:) is used to introduce a list after a complete sentence.
A dash (—) interrupts a statement or creates a dramatic pause or sense of suspense.
