Steps Problem Solution

1

Solve the equation

\$ | 20+2x | = | 4x+4 | \$

2

Given equation

\$ | 20+2x | = | 4x+4 | \$

3

Remove the both sides modules (or) absolute we get

\$ 20+2x=4x+4 (or) 20+2x=-(4x+4) \$

4

Transver all variable terms on left hand side and all constant terms transvered on right hand side we get

\$ 2x-4x=4-20 (or) 2x+4x=-4-20 \$

5

After simplification we get

\$ -2x=-16 (or) 6x=-24 \$

6

Dividing on both sides by "-2","6" we get

\$ (-2x)/-2=-16/-2 (or) (6x)/6=-24/6 \$

7

After cancellation we get

\$ x=8 (or) x=-4 \$

8

Hence the solution of the given equation is

\$ x= -4 (or) 8 \$
