Steps Problem Solution

1

Simplify the equation

\$ 4+2(x+4)=-x \$

2

Given equation

\$ 4+2(x+4)=-x \$

3

After eliminate bracket

\$ 4+2x+8=-x \$

4

After simplification

\$ 2x+x+12=0 \$

5

After simplification

\$ 3x+12=0 \$

6

Adding "-12" on both sides of the equation

\$ 3x+12-12=-12 \$

7

After cancellation we get

\$ 3x=-12 \$

8

Dividing on both sides by "3" we get

\$ 3x/3=-12/3 \$

9

After cancellation we get

\$ x=-4 \$

10

Hence the solution of the equation is

\$ x=-4 \$
