\$ d = a_n - a_(n-1) \$

Substitute the \$a_1 , a_2 \$

\$ d = a_2 - a_1 \$

Substitute the \$a_1 = 9 , a_2 = 12\$

\$d = 12 - 9 \$ = 3

Formula for \$n_(th)\$ number of series

\$ a_n = a_1 + (n-1)d \$

Substitute d = 3 , n = 24 we get

\$ a_24 = 9 + (24-1)3 \$

Simplify

\$ a_24 = 9 + (23)3 \$

\$ a_24 = 9 + 69 \$
